Heroes & Harbingers Ebook Preorders Are Here!

I’ve been hard at work ensuring that the Secret of Pantheons series starter, Heroes & Harbingers, is ready for release day on June 11th. My mission is to make this the best possible reading experience for those who purchase it. That has led to some changes. For instance, the cover image has changed.

I had a talk with New York Times Best-Selling Author, M.D. Cooper. While she thought it was a nice cover, she agreed with me that it still looked like it belonged to a YA book, instead of an Adult Fantasy Academia novel. So, a new cover was created and I’m quite pleased with it! It communicates Florida and magic, with just a touch of the dark—perfect for this story.

I’ve ordered a proof copy to ensure the paperback formatting came out correctly and will have an update on that soon.

Preorders

I intended on making ebook preorders available on April 19th. Since Amazon can take up to 72 hours to approve those, I submitted it yesterday. To my great surprise, they approved it by that evening. As a subscriber to my newsletter, I’m telling you before I announce this publicly.

The ebook will be only available through Amazon for now, so that Kindle Unlimited readers can access it. However, paperbacks will be available anywhere books are sold in June. If you think you may forget to order the paperback when it becomes available, I recommend you follow me on Amazon Author Central for real-time updates. You can do that here. Even if you intend to purchase it from another retailer, this will notify you that it’s available.

Adult Fantasy Academia

You may remember that I created a title for the subgenre for books like Heroes & Harbingers that feature adults in schools of magic. If not, the image below should serve as a quick reminder. In the end, those numbers were even bigger. I am now working on helping other authors promote their work in this subgenre. More news on this later.

Just for Fun

In the process of collecting items for release day, I rediscovered the astrological profiles I made for my main characters during the planning stages of Heroes & Harbingers. I thought you all might enjoy seeing these.

Here’s my dark but empathetic Ms. Sirin:

If you alpha or beta read for me, you may be nodding your head. While Ms. Sirin is a death harbinger and can be quite intense, she has a mother’s heart and often bucks societal norms.

My brave and bold Bree has this profile:

As a Libra, Bree has a commitment to fairness and justice. No one can shift her moral compass.

Last but not least, Mr. Finn’s profile:

Mr. Finn is a little set in his ways and not a fan of change, but he’s brave and will defend anyone he cares about.

Currently looking for ARC readers!

If my news of Heroes & Harbingers has enticed you, I encourage you to volunteer as an ARC reader. An ARC reader receives a free copy of the finished ebook in exchange for a free and honest review on platforms such as Amazon and Goodreads. Princess Eya’s life changes forever with the discovery of the Statue of the Goddess Winds, just as she’s coming of age. The long-overlooked kingdom of Hicares finds itself in a war it isn’t prepared for against the far more powerful empire of Pescel. To survive, Eya must flee her home, losing everything and everyone she loves in the process.

Yet, by leaving behind all she’s ever known, she learns that her sheltered life didn’t prepare her for the real world’s strange and frightening nature. She encounters people, places, and creatures beyond anything she ever imagined, along with sinister enemies from every direction. Perhaps her most surprising revelation is that she is developing terrifying powers of her own. Will Eya be able to find happiness in her new life, or will she continue struggling with the current?

Struggling With the Current is the first book of The Telverin Trilogy, a fantasy war story that takes place between several countries in the world of Telverin.
