When I tell you that I’ve been busy, that’s a massive understatement. September through now has been a whirlwind of travel and publication work. It’s all very exciting and, if I’m being honest, exhausting as well.
You went to Salem?
Years ago, back when I was publishing Struggling With the Current, I found out about a book convention called Getting Witchy With It that would take place in September 2023. As a witchy person, I was very interested in it. As a person who has always wanted to visit Salem, Massachussets, I was highly motivated to get there. Though I was still a baby author and had no idea what my publishing future held, I laid down the money for a booth reservation immediately.
I looked forward to that event for years, and wow, it completely surpassed my expectations! I have never seen so many readers and writers under one roof in my life. I even had a difficult time finding people I had planned on meeting up with.
After ten years of internet friendship, I finally fulfilled my dream of meeting author T. Ashley. She’s my “author bestie” who was the first to encourage me to pursue my lifelong goal of publishing my stories.

I also got to meet Ginger Lee and TJ Deschamps. Both women are authors I’ve admired for quite some time and I can’t believe I finally got to see them in the flesh!
Outside of the convention, I finally got to tour Salem. It was definitely the bucket list I’ve been hoping for all my life and I hope against hope I get to go again!
What about Las Vegas?
Since 2016, there has been a conference for indie authors in Las Vegas called 20Books. It is legendary for helping authors find their footing with their writing and publishing. I’ve wanted to go for quite some time and in early November I finally got to!
To say that I left that conference inspired and with a solid plan, doesn’t do the experience any justice. I met so many amazing people, including Mal Cooper (an author marketing guru), CR Rowenson (The Magic Engineer on YouTube) and Luke Gygax (who I got to play Dungeons & Dragons with!) Sadly, this was the last 20Books conference, but soon I intend to go to Author Nation, which will be a new indie author conference inspired by 20Books.

What’s this about a book cover?
With Portals & Pantheons coming out soon, I knew I’d need a new book cover for Heroes & Harbingers, since I designed the first book cover myself and couldn’t make a matching one for the sequel to save my life.
I am so excited to share with you the updated cover! TADA!

Stay tuned for the Portals & Pantheons cover reveal coming soon!
I’ve got so much more to say, but I can’t yet.
Very, very soon, I will have so many updates to share with you, and I think (or at least hope) that you’ll find them as exciting as I do. Let me just tease you with this. There will be a lot of big changes in 2024!
